Vanessa and Owen’s Kitchen Chicago wedding was such a treat to photograph. They are both travelers, Vanessa planned her wedding while doing a teaching/research position at a university in Japan, and they incorporated their love of maps and trinkets from their adventures into many of the details of their day. Vanessa is also an amateur photographer who really loves candid moments so it was great to work with them to create and find locations that would reflect their personalities.
I met Vanessa and her wedding party downtown for some getting ready photographs to start off the day.
After everyone was ready, we headed to Humboldt Park for their first look and portrait session. Humboldt Park is one of my favorite places in the city and I love the variety of places you can photograph in, creating different looks in one session.
After our portrait session, we headed to Kitchen Chicago for the ceremony and reception. I really love the large windows that let in so much light for the ceremony! Ceremonies are one of my favorite parts of the day to photograph as people tend to be very emotional and it’s wonderful to capture those moments of peak emotion for my couples.
After the ceremony, I had some time to get some detail shots of the space. The two hired me for a bit of the reception so I was able to get some lovely shots of their first dance!
Congrats you two! Check out some of the other amazing vendors that made this Kitchen Chicago wedding possible!
