I love shooting at unique venues outside of the city and Amanda and Blake’s Armour House wedding was no exception! The buildings on the Lake Forest Academy campus are stunning and lend themselves to be perfect backdrops for a wedding. After working with the couple on their engagement session, I knew their wedding would be a real treat!
I started with the wedding party at the nearby Hyatt Deerfield where I focused much of the morning on getting fun shots of the group and their families.
Amanda and Blake shared letters with each other before their first look. They were both so emotional and it was such a treat to get to see their reactions.
Amanda liked the idea of using the staircase at the Armour House for their first look and I couldn’t have agreed more! The large area gave me a lot of room to walk around and get a variety of images for them.
We walked around the grounds and took portraits of the two of them. The spring weather was warm and there are so many unique spots on the Armour House grounds. I also love the old trees on the property and tried to incorporate them into many of their photos.
The grass aisle is incredibly long and it gave me plenty of opportunities to get a variety of emotional ceremony shots.
During their first dances, everyone was so emotional. It was so sweet to see both of their parents reactions and feel all of the love in the room.
The moon was shining really bright that night so we decided to end the evening with a fun silhouette of the two of them outside.
Congrats to you both! It was so much fun to work with you and check out all of the other great vendors that made the day so great.
