I’m so excited to share my first shoot of 2017: Megan and Nicole’s Kitchen Chicago wedding! It was such a wonderful day and their love for one another was so palpable it made photographing them such a treat. They were recommended to me by previous clients Liz and Lauren and it was so great to see them at the wedding!
I don’t shoot a lot of January weddings so it was so fun to be able to start off the season early with Megan and Nicole. We met them downtown at Crowne Plaza where everyone was relaxed and in high spirits while getting ready. I love having some time to get some nice photos early as it sets the tone for the day and gets everyone comfortable in front of the camera.
While I was with Megan, my extremely talented second photographer Chris was hanging out with Nicole in a nearby room.
After everyone was ready we headed to Union Station for our portrait session. I love the space and it makes for such a great indoor spot if the weather is not ideal.
Once we got to Kitchen Chicago, we had a little time to make some more portraits in the upstairs loft and around the venue. They had also brought some antique bikes which we used for a few shots.
Liz officiated the ceremony and it was very witty and full of emotion. It was dark outside so we used some indoor lighting to bring out everyone’s faces and add some contrast!
The reception started with some fantastic toasts that had everyone laughing and in tears, including me!
After dinner the two shared their first dance, followed by super sweet dances with their parents.
The dance party was very lively and everyone was really getting into it! Amazing work as always by Toast & Jam DJs!
Thanks for having us be a part of your special day and to all of the great vendors who made this Kitchen Chicago wedding such a success!
