I had so much fun photographing Kacie and Karan’s Aurora Balaji Temple wedding in June. Each aspect was absolutely stunning, full of heart and Kacie planned the entire event herself which is so impressive! Both them and their families made us feel so welcome and it was such an honor to document their three-day event!
Our first day started with Kacie’s Mehndi party, a pre-wedding celebration where the bride has the mehndi stain, or henna, applied. It’s an incredibly lengthy process and Unnati Shah did a beautiful job! She even included Karan’s initials in the design which he had to find later.
One of my favorite parts of photographing Indian weddings is the baraat and their’s did not disappoint! Kacie’s father and Karan rode in a sports car during the procession while guests danced their way to the ceremony. There were so many different aspects to the ceremony but I loved the blessings in particular, especially the throwing of flower petals and rice to wish them luck and happiness. It was my first time at this temple and it made such a beautiful backdrop for some portraits.
Their casual backyard reception at Kacie’s parents house followed the day after and I cannot get over how sweet they both are with each other. When couples are just radiating joy and love like these two, it reminds me of how lucky I am that I get to do this every day!
After the cake was cut, the dance floor was never empty. My favorite kind of party! Congrats to you both and thanks so much for having us be a part of your day!
Special thanks to all the amazing vendors that made this Aurora Balaji Temple wedding such a success!
