I’m excited to share Elise and John’s Mayne Stage wedding from this summer! They both love the theater and decided to get married in one! The art deco inspired space gave a classic feel to the Roger’s Park wedding and I love when my couples choose a non-traditional location for their day. The ceremony included several songs sung by a friend the the processional song was the one that John sang to Elise when he proposed to her! Since I was working with such low light, I mimicked the stage lighting to enhance the colors and really make everything pop against the black backdrop on the stage. After the ceremony, we made a short walk to Loyola Beach, shooting the the beautiful streams of sunlight on Morse Avenue along the way. It’s always fantastic when we can make use of natural light and catch the sunset for portraits and these did not disappoint! Before the wedding we had discussed doing a fun night shot and the marquee made for a perfect backdrop. Thanks again for letting me be a part of your day!
What they said:
“Working with Allison was an absolute joy. Allison and her assistant blended seamlessly into our day by taking charge when they needed to, and also stepping back to capture everyone who attended the wedding. Allison is clearly experienced and at the end of the night, we felt like we had one of our friends documenting our wedding. We were extremely excited to get our pictures back, and they exceeded our expectations. Allison and her assistant were able to capture the joy and love that we remembered from our wedding day, and it means so much to us to have those pictures forever. We have gotten countless compliments on our photos from people to attended the wedding to classmates I haven’t spoken to in a decade.”
