Nothing beats a warm, fall shoot and Jane and Puran’s Lincoln Park engagement session was one of my favorites from last year. Their laughter was contagious throughout the shoot and photographing them was so much fun!

I work in Lincoln Park often so I’m always trying to find a new approach and to push myself to make different images for all of my clients. For Jane and Puran’s shoot, I really wanted the vibrant color of her dress and the fall leaves to stand out so I added some off camera lighting to make them pop out from the background and add some extra contrast.

It always take a little while to warm up and engagement shoots can be a little awkward at first since you’re not really “doing anything”. My approach is to always get everyone comfortable in front of the camera, laughing and joking around, so that those intimate and fun moments can happen naturally instead of posing couples in ways that might not be normal for them.
