Dallas and Joe’s Hideout Chicago wedding was a dream to photograph. If you haven’t been to The Hideout, it’s a small, tucked away space nestled in an industrial park between the Chicago River and the highway. Normally the space hosts live music, comedy and concerts so I knew photographing a wedding there would be a whole lot of fun.
The two are very laid back, quirky, artistically-minded people and the day reflected that in every way. I started off with Dallas at the Wicker Park salon G Spot Hair Design. After that, we hopped into a cab for the first look that Joe had scouted himself. I hadn’t photographed at the Aqua Building and it was such a beautiful find and a great, isolated first look locale.
I loved the look of the stairs and the reflected light of the Aqua Building. Their first look was very emotional and I almost started crying myself!
After the first look, we headed to the Hideout and made a few more portraits before the ceremony.
I also had the chance to photograph Dallas and Joe’s rings. This was an extra special ring photo since Dallas made the wedding band. Her jewelry is really fantastic!
Then it was time for the ceremony! There were about 80 guests in attendance and it was a very intimate, sweet and warm ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests headed outside for cocktails and delicious tacos provided by Big Star.
Then it was time for speeches and the couple’s first dance. Their friend sang and played the guitar for the dance which was so sweet.
Dance party time!
Cheers to both of you! What an incredible day! Also special thanks to the team that made this Hideout Chicago wedding possible!
