A couple kisses during a Garfield Park Conservatory wedding.

I love indoor wedding venues with tons of natural light and Deidrea and William’s beautiful Garfield Park Conservatory wedding was the perfect setting for such a great day. They are both performing artists with the National Tour of The Lion King which means they’re traveling across the country constantly. Deidrea is from Toronto and William from Chicago so they decided on the Garfield Park Conservatory which would be close to their families and also chose a weekday which would work with their busy schedules.

Their ceremony was absolutely stunning, especially with all of the floral elements from Flowers by Stem. It featured a tasting of the elements ceremony in which the couple gets a taste of four flavors that are meant to represent different stages within a marriage: cayenne for spiciness, lemon for sourness, vinegar for bitterness and honey for sweetness. I love the symbolism in this tradition and the different tastes made for some great reactions from the couple.
