A couple kisses in the wind at an Illinois Beach Resort wedding

I’m excited to share some favorites from Shannon and Stephen’s Illinois Beach Resort wedding. The both love the outdoors, camping and hiking and wanted a wedding venue that would reflect some of their favorite places. It was my first time working there and I was so impressed from the start. It’s a hidden gem just outside of Chicago. Right along the Lake Michigan coast, it has tons of greenery and beautiful walking paths that make a perfect wedding backdrop.

I was a little nervous when I arrived because it was one of the windiest wedding days I’ve ever had. Luckily the two were up for an adventure and embraced the weather throughout the day. You can’t plan for everything and it was so great to have such an easy going couple to work with!

We started with their first look and I was immediately struck but how deeply in love with each other they were. They were so sweet and at ease in front of the camera which made for some great moments during our portrait session.

They are both very expressive and their ceremony was full of emotion. When they are together, everything is big, including their smiles and tearful vows. I especially loved the moments with their parents walking them down the aisle.

Daniel from Toast & Jam really brought the party and everyone was on the dance floor for most of the night! Congrats you two! Thanks for having me be a part of your day!
